Meeting a Blind Person:

When you meet a person who is blind or has vision impairment, the first and best thing you can do is ask questions. The worst thing you can do is to assume you know what they need. Most people who have severe vision impairment are not totally blind.

Triple Gold Triumph:

Singapore athletes won nine medals at the Far East and South Pacific Games for the Disabled in Busan.

Without much fanfare or publicity, Singapore’s contingent of 10 athletes who completed at the Asian Games for disabled athletes came home last night from Busan, South Korea.

In 1994, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the rules on the equalization of opportunities for persons with disabilities. The purpose of these 22 articles is that all persons have the same rights and duties.
